A Tribute To Fathers Day...A Memory Of Love
I was out shopping last evening and I seen many people buying gifts for
Fathers Day.
A Lady behind me at the cash was telling her friend that her fathers gift wouldn't reach him
by Sunday.
I turned to the Lady asking her where her father lived.
He lives in Bath,she said.
I smiled at her and said that my Uncle passed many years ago.
He was a Father to me,the only father I knew.
I left the Store thinking how very lucky she was.
Bath is only about thirty miles away.
I would travel to the four corners of the earth if I could once again find my uncle.
She still has time....
All I have are memories,a few faded pictures,and the grave in which he lay.
For any of you that still have your Dad,treasure every moment.
Never take anything for granted and love like there is no tomorrow.
You may not have the time to wait for another year,another month,or another day.
Time isn't a friend.
This is a Poem that I wrote for Uncle.
I thought I would share it with you.
My Hero
The winter cold has gone now,
The Robins have came home;
THE
Grass will soon turn green again,
In this place that we call home.
The beauty will renew itself,
The days of rain and shine;
Flowers,trees,and air we breathe,
All
under Gods blue sky.
My Hero will be missing tho,
These things he will not see;
The same God that we pray to,
Has stolen
him from me.
Oh,he was my everything,
The Dad I never knew;
I miss him so and no one knows,
The bond that held
we two.
I walk these halls,I see these things,
The places we have gone;
Things we done and dreams we shared,
Now
shadowed by the fog.
His love was unconditional,
His faith in me was strong;
An Angel sent from heaven,
Who couldn't
stay for long.
In my twenty sixth year God called him home,
To rest in Paradise;
The arms that once held me close,
Waits
now on the other side.
When my journey here is through,
And Punky guides me home;
His hand in mine,his love I find,
Around
Gods holy throne.
